The College at Brockport

Position Summary
The Talent Recruitment Specialist is responsible for the development, implementation and administration of faculty and professional staff talent recruitment strategies. Manages and oversees the full life cycle recruitment process including development of job descriptions, writing position advertisements, sourcing and screening applicants, conducting search training, and processing background checks and offers. Advises departments on HR policies and procedures and federal and state regulations regarding recruitment and hiring. Position reports to the Assistant Vice President for Human Resources and supervises the Talent Recruitment Assistant.
Faculty and Professional Recruitment and Staffing

  • Manages the recruitment and hiring process for professional and faculty positions to include: writing job descriptions and position advertisements, developing sourcing strategies, providing training on search procedures, conducting background checks, ensuring AA/EEO compliance, interpreting Department of Labor, SUNY and other regulatory agencies policies and procedures, and providing guidance on selecting candidates and making offers.

  • Works with hiring managers to develop strategic recruitment plans. Provides a high level of customer service in consulting with and guiding hiring managers to address comprehensive recruitment and staffing issues, policies, and processes

  • Utilizes broad market knowledge to network creatively in order to build, manage and maintain a pipeline of qualified and diverse talent.

  • Reviews applicants proposed for telephone interviews comparing credentials with established criteria and assessing the applicant pool in terms of AA goals.

  • Remains current on HR and recruiting trends. Recommends solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness in the recruiting life cycle.

  • Serves as the primary trainer to deliver search procedure training to faculty and professional search committees and hiring managers/department chairs.

  • Works closely with the Affirmative Action and Diversity Offices to enhance diversity recruitment efforts and programs.
    o Adheres to OFCCP and AA/EEO regulations and established SUNY policies and procedures to ensure the College builds a diverse, representative workforce.
    o Supports the development and implementation of employment marketing approaches and innovative programs for recruiting diverse talent.

  • Serves on search committees.
    Applicant Tracking System (ATS)

  • Serves as subject matter expert for The College's ATS.

  • Creates and maintains various user guides for the ATS.

  • Provides training to the campus community regarding ATS operations and functionality.

  • Serves as a primary liaison with the ATS provider to facilitate any changes/modifications required to ensure accurate and efficient operation of the program.
    Classification and Compensation Administration

  • Assists departments in writing job descriptions and determining the appropriate classification and salary grade for new and existing positions. Assists in ensuring that position classifications are consistent with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), SUNY policies, union agreements, departments' organizational structures, and campus practices.

  • Utilizes labor market data to make salary recommendations. Analyzes vacant professional positions for appropriate placement within the campus compensation program and makes recommendations regarding targeted salaries.

  • Assists with the compilation of labor market and internal wage data for compensation analyses.

  • Analyzes job descriptions and reviews compensation surveys to identify benchmarks.
    Organizational Development Initiatives

  • Works within a team to assist with employee onboarding initiatives including orientation, socialization and mentoring programs.

  • Conducts exit and stay interviews, time permitting.

  • May assist with employee relations matters, time permitting.
    Required Qualifications
    Bachelor's degree, preferably in Human Resources or a related field, from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization; prior recruitment experience; knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations; excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem solving skills; effective interpersonal skills to work with faculty, staff, and students; demonstrated ability to work independently and work collaboratively as part of a team; strong presentation and oral and written communication skills, and; ability to maintain confidentiality and proven record of personal integrity.
    Preferred Qualifications
    Master's Degree in Human Resources or a related field from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization; experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS); demonstrated ability to manage conflict with diplomacy and tact, and; supervisory experience.
    Salary and Benefits
    Starting salary mid $50's to low $60's depending on experience. Excellent benefits package including paid health, dental, and vision insurances, retirement, and generous paid time off.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
