Lecturer - Sport Management Job no: 494147 Position Type: Faculty (Full-Time) Location: Brockport Division/Equivalent: Academic Affairs School/Unit: Kinesiology, Sport Studies & Physical Education Categories: Faculty Lecturer - Sport Management The College at Brockport The Department of Kinesiology, Sport Studies and Physical Education at The College at Brockport, State University of New York, invites applications for a Lecturer position in Sport Management to begin August 2019.
We particularly welcome applications from populations historically underrepresented in the academy and/or who have experience working in diverse populations.
Major Responsibilities Teach undergraduate courses in Sport Management and graduate courses in Athletic Administration Serve on department and college-wide committees.
Attend and participate in department meetings, including faculty meetings and Sport Management major meetings.
Represent the department at college-wide events such as Final Registration, Open House and Accepted Students Day, Graduate Open House.
Advise approximately 40 students per semester.
Demonstrated ability to effectively engage faculty, staff and students in a collegial and collaborative manner.
Required Qualifications Master of Science degree in Sport Management, Athletic Administration or related field from an accredited US Department of Education or internationally recognized college or university; ability to teach courses in Sport Management and Athletic Administration; ability to teach a diverse student body; ability to develop and oversee the Sport Management Lab; and, ability to provide service to the department and college Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching at the college level; experience with the use of technology in teaching; and, demonstrated ability to effectively engage faculty, staff and students in a collegial and collaborative manner.
Department Description The Department of Kinesiology, Sport Studies and Physical Education maintains the largest student enrollment on campus and houses five majors: Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Physical Education-Teacher Education and Sport Management.
It is also home to a concentration in Adapted Physical Education, a minor in Coaching and a Graduate program.
Graduate tracks include Adapted Physical Education, Athletic Administration, and Pedagogy.

This position will offer an initial 1 year contract followed by a 2 year contract and subsequent 3 year renewable contracts based on performance.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
